Fisher Stevens

fs.jpg

Fisher Stevens, film producer, has been in the entertainment business for over 30 years. His versatility in the industry is evident from his wide range of credits, from acting to producing to directing, and from film to television to theater and working with the United Nations.

Stevens directed Leonardo DiCaprio in Before The Flood and produced Louie Psihoyos' Racing Extinction, his follow-up to his Academy Award winning documentary The Cove (2010) about the dolphin slaughters taking place in Taiji, Japan. These films, including his producing Mission Blue about Ted Prize winner, marine biologist Syiva Earle and directing We Go Green, are a testimony to his concerns about our environment. Perhaps that can be said as well for having executive produced the highly acclaimed Netflix documentary series Tiger King.

In 2021, Apple released Palmer directed by Stevens and starring Justine Timberlake. Stevens continues to act in Successions for HBO and direct a documentary about the Lincoln Project.

He co-directed Bright Lights: Starring Carrie Fisher and Debbie Reynolds for HBO and produced Sky Ladder: The Art of Cai Guo-Qiang, the opening-night documentary at Sundance 2016.

In 2010 Stevens co-founded Insurgent Media, producers of the 2012 SXSW Grand Jury Prize winning documentary Beware of Mr. Baker, PBS’Before the Spring: After the Fall, and Blank City. In 2008 he produced and co-directed the Independent Spirit Award-winning documentary Crazy Love.

In 1996 he co founded Greene Street Films and in 1986 Stevens co-founded the downtown New York Theater company Naked Angels.
