Elizabeth Kneissl is a systems engineer and construction designer based in New York City. She has consulted and engineered projects in the art, entertainment and hospitality fields worldwide, helping artists and designers realize their visions.

For ten years, Kneissl has served as head of Systems Engineering at the construction management firm, Big Show CM, a company that bridges entertainment and artistic communities with the construction industry. With Big Show, she has combined her artistic sensibilities with her technical expertise, working with the Metropolitan Museum of Art, Madame Tussaud’s, Sony, the Wynn Resort in Las Vegas and showrooms for Ferrari and Audi. She has worked with numerous artists, including Marco Brambilla, Baz Luhrmann and the collective Nuit Blanche, and engineered the award-winning digital signage ring at JetBlue’s T5 Terminal at JFK Airport. Prior to joining Big Show, Kneissl worked in broadcast engineering, theatrical lighting and set design.

She was part of the team that designed and built MSNBC, WPIX and MTV Studios in Times Square. She has designed shows for Off-Broadway theaters and worked as Master Carpenter and Technical Director for Signature Theater, the New York Shakespeare Festival and the Public Theater. After leaving the theater world, she joined the prestigious A/V company, Scharff- Weissberg, as a systems engineer, where he worked on projects for the New York Stock Exchange, the Guggenheim Museum, Vivendi Universal and SAP. As a freelancer, Kneissl’s major projects include the Victoria’s Secret Flagship Store in London, the US Open, traveling exhibitions for the American Museum of Natural History, scenic elements for Elizabeth Strebb, and technical direction for the World Science Festival.
